IronOCR Visual C++ Redistributable Setup
Please ensure that the latest version 2015-2022 of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio is installed on the target machines.
This is a required system component on Windows operating systems to run IronOCR and many other modern pieces of software reliably.
Install Visual C++ Runtime for Windows
Download and run the installer from the official Microsoft support CDN.
- 32-bit machines require the x86 version only. Download x86 from Microsoft.
- 64-bit machines require both the x86 and x64 versions. Download x64 from Microsoft.
- Ensure you're using the latest version: 2015-2022.
For our "SaaS/OEM Redistribution" customers, one big advantage of installing the C++ runtime is that it can be packaged and distributed as part of an MSI or Executable program installer.
Alternative Approach: Windows Update
Some users prefer to get a successful fix by installing the Windows Update for Universal C++ Runtimes on Windows.
This approach is recommended by Microsoft for older operating systems such as Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, and Windows Vista.
