Iron Software 2025: Year In Review

2025 marked a major milestone for Iron Software, our tenth year building software libraries for the .NET developer community. What started with a single flagship library, IronPDF, has grown into a comprehensive suite of .NET libraries trusted by millions of developers worldwide.
This year, we focused on the work that matters most: expanding to new platforms, supporting new standards, and delivering performance improvements across every product in the Iron Suite. From architectural advances to measurable efficiency gains, 2025 reflects our continued commitment to building reliable, high-performance tools that scale with modern .NET development.
2025 Product Milestones
Native Mobile Support for iOS and Android

“Reaching our tenth year was an opportunity to reflect not just on how much we’ve grown, but on why we started in the first place,” said Cameron Rimington, CEO of Iron Software. “Everything we shipped in 2025 was guided by one principle: making it easier for developers to build reliable, compliant software at scale.”
In 2025, IronBarcode expanded beyond desktop and web to deliver native mobile support for both iOS and Android. This milestone allows developers to bring the same fast, reliable barcode generation and scanning capabilities into mobile applications built with .NET MAUI and Xamarin, using a consistent .NET-first approach across platforms.
IronBarcode Android Package
The IronBarcode.Android package makes it straightforward to add barcode generation and scanning to .NET MAUI Android applications. With minimal configuration, developers can integrate barcode functionality directly into their cross-platform projects without relying on external services or third-party SDKs.
IronBarcode iOS Package
The IronBarcode.iOS package provides native barcode generation and scanning support for .NET MAUI iOS apps. Designed for simplicity and performance, it enables teams to extend barcode workflows to iOS while keeping their tooling and development stack fully within the .NET ecosystem.

IronOCR Update: 75% reduction in execution time
In 2025, we refined the OCR pipeline to improve execution efficiency while giving developers more control over how OCR processing is configured.
The result was a faster, leaner execution path designed for real-world, document-heavy workloads.

- Execution time reduced from 139,418 ms to 34,589 ms
- Configurable OCR filtering to skip unnecessary preprocessing
- 4× increase in throughput, from 0.0072 to 0.0289 operations per second
Essential Update: PDF/A-4 (ISO 19005-4:2020) Support Added to IronPDF

IronPDF now includes full support for PDF/A-4, the latest ISO standard (19005-4:2020) for long-term digital document preservation.
This enhancement is particularly valuable for industries such as legal, finance, healthcare, and government, where compliance, archival integrity, and future accessibility are mission-critical.
This update will bring:
- Future-Proof Standards Compliance
PDF/A-4 ensures adherence to the most recent international requirements for document archiving, supporting long-term retention and legal defensibility. - Guaranteed Long-Term Accessibility
PDF/A-4 embeds essential elements fonts, metadata, color profiles within the document itself, ensuring reliable rendering and readability for decades, independent of software or system changes.
This update further strengthens IronPDF’s position as a robust solution for creating compliant, archival-quality PDF documents in business-critical environments.

.NET Conf 2025 : WebAssembly, AI, and the Future of .NET
As we close out the year, we’re proud to reflect on the contributions made by Iron Software’s growth and global presence in 2025. It was our first time virtual event for .NET Conf 2025, expanding the reach and commitment of our devs community. The response was incredible from insightful conversations led by Iron Software’s CTO Jacob Mellor explored how WebAssembly and AI are reshaping software development, revealing how Iron Software is leveraging these technologies to expand cross-platform deployment and boost developer productivity.
Shadman Majid guided attendees through a practical migration path from .NET 8 to 10, while Jim Fry shared performance benchmarks that demonstrated real business value with IronPDF operations running up to 27% faster on .NET 10.
