    Class TesseractEngineMode

    Allows the developer to choose the algorithm Tesseract will use for OCR. TesseractAndLstm is the recommended behavior for IronOCR.

    Inheritance
    System.Object
    TesseractEngineMode
    Namespace: IronOcr
    Assembly: IronOcr.dll
    Syntax
    public sealed class TesseractEngineMode : Enum

    Selecting the recognition algorithm Tesseract runs sets TesseractConfiguration.EngineMode to a TesseractEngineMode value. TesseractAndLstm combines the legacy engine with the neural LSTM model and is the recommended mode for IronOCR, LstmOnly uses just the neural model, TesseractOnly uses just the legacy engine, and Default lets Tesseract pick. The Tesseract config how-to sets engine options.

    ocr.Configuration.EngineMode = TesseractEngineMode.TesseractAndLstm;

    Fields

    Default

    The default OCR engine is used (currently LSTM-based OCR engine).

    Declaration
    public const TesseractEngineMode Default
    Field Value
    Type Description
    TesseractEngineMode

    LstmOnly

    Only the new LSTM-based OCR engine is used. Uses a pre programmed neural net. (Tesseract 4 + 5 Mode)

    Declaration
    public const TesseractEngineMode LstmOnly
    Field Value
    Type Description
    TesseractEngineMode

    TesseractAndLstm

    Both the legacy and new LSTM based OCR engine is used. (Recommended for a good balance of speed and performance)

    Declaration
    public const TesseractEngineMode TesseractAndLstm
    Field Value
    Type Description
    TesseractEngineMode

    TesseractOnly

    Only the legacy tesseract OCR engine is used. (Tesseract 3 OEM Mode)

    Declaration
    public const TesseractEngineMode TesseractOnly
    Field Value
    Type Description
    TesseractEngineMode
