    Class ParsedElement

    Represents a parsed element from structured data, containing information about the element's validity and any issues found.

    Inheritance
    System.Object
    ParsedElement
    Namespace: IronBarCode
    Assembly: IronBarCode.dll
    Syntax
    public class ParsedElement : Object

    ParsedElement carries one field pulled out of a structured barcode payload. When a GS1 or other application-identifier string is parsed, each recognized field becomes its own element, and a developer reads these to consume the data field by field instead of slicing one long string by hand. Each element pairs the value with the identifier that introduced it and a verdict on whether that value passed validation.

    Elements arrive together in the Elements list on a ParseResult, so a developer obtains them by iterating that list rather than constructing them. Identifier is the application-identifier code that names the field, Description is a readable label for what the field represents, and Data is the extracted value itself. Reading these three answers the everyday question of what this part of the payload means and what it contains.

    Validity travels with the value. IsValid reports whether the field passed its validation rule, and when it did not, Errors and Warnings, both List<string>, explain why. A developer checks IsValid before trusting Data, then surfaces the diagnostics for any field that failed. Because the verdict rides on each element rather than on the payload as a whole, an application can keep the fields that checked out and flag only the ones that did not, instead of rejecting an entire barcode for a single bad value. Treat each element as read-only output describing one extracted field. Iterating the elements and inspecting their validity is the practical way to consume a structured payload safely, and pairing Identifier with Description makes a clear log line for each field read. The output data formats how-to shows how to present extracted fields, and the checksum and format validation how-to covers validating field values.

    using IronBarCode;

    foreach (ParsedElement element in result.Elements)
        if (element.IsValid)
            Console.WriteLine($"{element.Identifier}: {element.Data}");
        else
            Console.WriteLine(string.Join("; ", element.Errors));

    The reading barcodes tutorial covers the surrounding read and parse workflow.
